Ingredients:
4 bratwurst links
1 onion
1 bottle german ale
A hunk of butter
A pinch of salt
Directions:
Melt butter in a cast iron skillet
Add onions and cook 5-10 minutes until they start to soften and turn translucent
Season onions with a pinch of salt
Add brats and ale and simmer gently for 30 minutes
Remove brats to a preheated grill for 2-4 minutes per side
Serve on a bun or a bed of potatoes with the cooked onions, sauerkraut, and some stone-ground mustard
